Authorization:
Chapter 14-1 of the South Dakota Codified Laws
Activities:
Directs State Library operation and assists and coordinates the other libraries throughout the state in
providing services to the public.
Organization:
Attached to the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs for reporting purposes only.
Composition:
Six members appointed by the Governor. Not all from the same political party. One member shall be
the Executive Director of the Board of Regents or his designee.
Term of Appointment:
Terms shall expire on October 30 on the third year of appointment. Terms that end June 30,
2012, are extended to October 30, 2012.
Frequency of Meetings:
Quarterly
