Activities:
Compacting states to the Interstate Compact recognize their responsibility for the proper supervision or
return of juveniles, delinquents, and status offenders who are on probation or parole and who have
absconded, escaped, or run away from supervision and control. The compacting states also recognize
that each state is responsible for the safe return of juveniles who have run away from home and in doing
so have left their state of residence.

Composition:
Six members appointed by the Governor, including the Department of Corrections Secretary or
designee; Department of Corrections Director of Juvenile Services or designee; a representative of a
victims’ group; a state or local law enforcement officer; a representative from the Department of Social
Services Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children (ICPC); a director or designee from a
regional juvenile detention facility; a Circuit Court Judge appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; a State Legislator appointed by the Legislature's Executive Board.
Term of Appointment:
Three years, ending Nov. 30. No term limit.
Frequency of Meetings:
Twice a year.
