Propose rules and provide oversight of classification, discipline, conditions of work, and grievance
procedures for civil service employees.
Organization:
Attached to the Bureau of Human Resources
Composition:
Seven members, not all of the same political party, appointed by the Governor. Three members shall be
experienced in law enforcement.
Term of Appointment:
The Governor shall initially appoint two members for two years, two initial members for three
years, and three initial members for four years. Thereafter, each term shall be for four years,
beginning July 1. Appointments to vacancies are only for the length of the unexpired terms.
Frequency of Meetings:
Meetings will be held, as necessary.
