Activities:
The commission is to enlarge, restore, and beautify the capitol complex. The commission makes recommendations for the development of areas immediately adjacent to the state capitol complex and acquaint the people of South Dakota with the need and purpose of a comprehensive long-range plan for capitol complex of sufficient and proper size to serve the future needs of the state and to secure the proper growth and expansion of the city of Pierre.
Organization:
The commission is administered under the direction and supervision of the bureau of administration and the commissioner thereof, but shall retain quasi-judicial, quasi-legislative, advisory, other nonadministrative and special budgetary functions otherwise vested in it and shall exercise those functions independently of the commissioner of administration.
Composition:
Seven members appointed by the Governor, not all from the same political party. Mayor of Pierre or his designee is a non-appointed member. Members are eligible for travel reimbursement.
Term of Appointment:
Four years.

Two per year.
